Black Friday News!

Black Friday is 60 days away but who's counting? Many (including myself) have been getting ready for the biggest shopping day of the year for weeks now. I started getting ready in July. Was that too early? I think not! It's time to start game planning, gather up your team of shoppers and figure out the store hours and who is going where. On Sept. 26, 2014, Brad's Black Friday revealed the first rumored store hours for three of the biggest retailers - Walmart, Best Buy, and Kmart. For Walmart and Best Buy, the hours being reported are exactly the same as last year, which is a red flag for this shopping extravaganza that tends to shift dramatically from year to year. WCPO in Cincinnati has passed along word that Walmart is going to be opening on Thanksgiving morning for the whole store. Doorbusters are set to officially begin at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014. That very same report has Kmart opening at 8:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27, 2014) and then Best Buy possibly opening at 6:00 p.m. on that same day. If this report is concrete, then that would have three of the biggest retailers open at least six hours before Black Friday actually begins. What happened to enjoying the holiday and staying up all night for Friday to come around? Don't get me wrong, I love to shop on Black Friday.....but can someone please tell the retailers that they should go back to how it used to be? No one wants to work on Thanksgiving. Brad's Black Friday is a bit skeptical of this report though, and that's is why they are filing it under the rumored reports. No stores have officially released their hours for Black Friday 2014, and most years, hours change quite a good bit. We all know Walmart, the most competitive of all, won't release ANY information to anyone. They like to leak their own details about Black Friday. The rumored 2014 Black Friday Store Hours are as follows:

Walmart - Doorbusters begin at 6pm on Thanksgiving
Kmart – 8am on Thanksgiving Day (with some starting on that day at 6am)
Best Buy - 6pm on Thanksgiving day
