Dealing with Asthma

by - September 07, 2014

For the last few days,  my daughter's asthma has flared up really bad.  Friday evening we spent a couple of hours in the ER. Her oxygen level was in the 80's which is not very good. The doctors there were amazing yet again and gave her 2 nebulizer treatments to get her oxygen level back in the 90's and to ease her wheezing. They prescribed Prednisone which is a steroid and helps a lot. My daughter is 13 years old and has suffered with this since she was 2 months old. It doesn't get easier as a mother, dealing with this and seeing your child struggling to breathe.  I'm blogging on my phone while I sit next to my daughter as she receives another nebulizer treatment.  I was supposed to conduct a coupon class today but I can't because of this. What amazes me about my daughter is that even during these times, she still manages to smile and tell a few jokes. How many parents have a child or children that suffer from asthma?  I'd like to hear what you go through and how do you handle it as a parent?
