DIY Santa Claus Candle Jars

Hey guys! I had some old candle jars that I was thinking of throwing away but then an idea came to mind! I boiled some hot water and melted the left over wax in them and then dumped it out. Cleaned ti up with some Mr. Clean liquid muscle and patted them dry with bounty paper towels. I asked my 6 year old what he wanted me to paint on them, christmas presents or Santa. He chose Santa! (smart kid)

Things you'll need:

  • Recycled candle jars
  • Acrylic paints
  • Paint brushes
  • Newspaper
  • Acrylic sealer finisher gloss

Steps:

1. If you have leftover candle wax (like i did) boil water and place jar in the pot. when wax is melted, pour out into a cereal box and dispose.

2. Finish cleaning with Mr. Clean liquid muscle, rinse and dry off.

3. Paint the jar red (2 coats does the trick), let dry

4. Next is the white fur. Make sure you dab the paint brush to give it that furry look. let dry

5. Paint the belt. 2 coats of black usually does the trick as well. the line does not need to be perfect. let dry and then paint the buckle on.

6. You will want to finish and seal it with an acrylic sealer. Make sure that the paint is dry before you apply the sealer.

7. Let dry overnight and set up!
