DIY Chalkboard

I came across this wall decor at Target for $8.48. It was originally priced at $29.99 so at that clearance price, I had to get it! I had a great idea as I was walking to the register, "I'm going to make a chalkboard for Mikey!". Mikey is my 6 year old son.

He's been asking me for one and I just can't get myself to pay $30 for one when I knew I had some chalkboard paint at home from a previous project. I've just been waiting to come across something I could use and this was my chance! You can find the paint at Home Depot.

I paid $9.67 last year for a quart (30 FL OZ to be exact). It's expensive but worth it. I started to paint the wall decor and saw how awesome it was about to become. I let it dry for about 4 hours and voila! It was ready to use! This project was a simple and frugal one. The kind that I love! The chalk you can get at Walmart for $0.47. It wipes easy and clean. Happy DIY!
