2015 Mayfair Festival of the Arts: Friday: May 22th – Monday May25th!

As many of you know, I live in the Lehigh Valley. We have this Festival of the Arts that happens every single year at the end of May called Mayfair. It is absolutely awesome. It starts Friday, May 22th and runs through Monday May25th.

Many years ago it used to be free which was great but that has since changed and the admission price is now $5. $5 is not much so I'm sure you can grab a few bucks and take your family down to enjoy some good entertainment. You're probably wondering why they started charging. Think of it as a donation to the arts community. To keep this festival going strong every year, they need money. Lots of different vendors from across the United States come and sell their food or their art.

My parents would bring me here all the time as a little girl and I loved it. I remember making so many crafts, buying unique art pieces and tasting so many different foods. This is a festival you have to come out to. I guarantee you will have a blast. There is music playing non stop in 3 different places. There is a separate place for just kids only! I'm a Lehigh Valley native so I love to take my kids to the festivals my parents took me too as a kid.

There is free parking so don't worry about being charged for that. Like I said they feature many genres of music and performing arts on stages both indoors and out. Their artist markets include glass, painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, pottery and so much more. With all of these choices, you are guaranteed to find something you will love.

This gives you the chance to take the kids away from TV, computers and video games and get them creating awesome things in KidSpace where they will have a big selection of hands-on art activities. They can sit back and enjoy the interactive theater or become part of the shows on KidStage. Becoming part of the show is always a fun thing to do!

Remember to visit The Gallery at Mayfair, where you can see a juried fine art show from artists across the US and don't forget to enjoy some of that yummy large variety of food vendors.
