New Recipe! Pepper Cheeseburgers!

The other I started experimenting with some recipes. I made some pepper burgers. It's a quick easy meal that is high in protein. I hope you guys like it as much as my family did!

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 lb of ground beef
  • 1/4 lb of ground sausage
  • 2 Green bell peppers
  • Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp Mayo
  • 2 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 yellow Spanish onion
  • 1 tsp Olive oil

Directions:
  1. Mix ground beef and sausage. set aside
  2. Slice peppers to make a nice circle about half an inch thick.
  3. Begin forming the patties inside of the pepper as pictured below.
  4. By trial and error I've found out that if you freeze the patties with the peppers, they will not reduce in size. If you don't then they will. However, I did not freeze them.
  5. Mix spices, mayo, and ketchup.
  6. Grate half of the onion.
  7. Put olive oil in a the skillet and add onions.
  8. Saute until soft and set aside. You want them to feel like butter.
  9. Spread onions on the bottom bun and the sauce on the top bun
  10. Slice the block of cheddar cheese into thin slices and add to burgers. Remove when melted and serve!
