PHILADELPHIA (April 18, 2017) – Direct from Hollywood, the musical hit that captured hearts and had toes tapping comes to the Mann stage for a live-to-film performance under the summer stars on August 17.  The full-length film LA LA LAND will play on three high-definition screens with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia playing the score live.  LA LA LAND, winner of six Academy Awards® including Best Original Score and Best Original Song, is the final performance of the Movies @ the Mann series for 2017.

“Our Movies @ the Mann series is truly something special.  This August 17, there is no better place to be in Philadelphia than under a canopy of stars at the Mann with LA LA LAND enchanting the stage,” said Catherine M. Cahill, president and CEO of the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. “Justin Hurwitz’s award-winning score will be brought to life by the talented Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia while romance and artistry dance across spectacular screens.  What a perfect way to close our summer movie series.”

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, conducted by Erik Ochsner and comprised of 33 talented classical musicians, will play the jazz-inspired score live in real time with the feature length-film.  Ochsner, the principal touring conductor for LA LA LAND in Concert, is a versatile conductor whose repertoire stretches across a broad range of genres. Premiering this May at the Hollywood Bowl, LA LA LAND in Concert, will travel around the United States this summer.

The evening will also mark the Mann’s annual Party in the Park. Guests will begin their evening with cocktails and dinner overlooking the Mann stage and the Philadelphia skyline before enjoying LA LA LAND from under the Mann’s pavilion.  Party in the Park is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Mann's education and community-engagement programs, a free education program serving more than 30,000 young people annually.

LA LA LAND in Concert is the final performance of the Mann’s summer classics series.  This year’s series will feature Philadelphia’s four renowned orchestras – The Philadelphia Orchestra, Curtis Symphony Orchestra, The Philly POPS and The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia – on the Mann stage for the first time in a single season.

  1. Many halls are created to provide a catering service to specific cultural needs. And it gets very difficult to have a party at a hotel because the catering staff could not cook the traditional meals required by the client. But this venue NYC specialize in specific cultural needs.
