Christmas is 65 days away. Yes, 65 days away! It's time to start making your holiday gift list and with it, a budget to follow. I created my own system that worked for me. You can play with mine and tweak it to your liking to fit your budget. This is how I make my list for my holiday budget folder.
- Make a list of family and friends that you will be buying gifts for.
- Determine how much you will spend on each.
- Set realistic expectations.
- Budget based on your finances, not on whom it would impress.
- Set your limits and stick to them.
- If you don't already know, learn how to coupon and use online coupon codes.
- Start buying gifts early to minimize spending.
- Avoid using your debit/credit card.
- Use a cash envelope system like Dave Ramsey's and put all change into a jug.
- Give personalized gifts instead of expensive ones.
