Get a Sneak Peek of Target’s New TargetExpress Store!

Article written by: Jennifer Liu, Digital Editorial Assistant of All You
A few weeks ago, All You reported on Walmart’s plan to launch new mini-stores across the country. Looks like Target’s getting in on the small-store game, too. The major retailer launched its first-ever TargetExpress store on July 23 in Dinkytown, Minneapolis, a small community near the University of Minnesota campus.

The 20,000-square-foot store is 15 percent of the size of a typical Target and boasts a large selection of products without the hassle of long lines or navigation headaches. Rather than jumbo-size shopping carts, this store has smaller baskets and two-tiered carts, making it easy for customers to get in and out in a jiffy.

Here’s what you can find inside TargetExpress:

  • Grocery selections like fresh produce, meat, deli, dairy and on-the-go snack foods
  • Home decor and seasonal merchandise
  • Beauty items and a Target Beauty Concierge
  • Pharmacy
  • Electronics
  • Redesigned baby department with specially-trained members who can offer product education
  • Site-to-store pickup for online purchases
  • Digital integration with Target’s Cartwheel app, which tracks store discounts, and its new In A Snap app, which helps shoppers locate products from photo inspiration
For all you non-Minnesota Target fans, don’t worry! Four more TargetExpress locations will open in 2015: three the San Francisco Bay Area and one in the Highland Park area of St. Paul, Minn.
