EAGLES FAMILY FUN: Mann Announces Phila Eagles Concert with NFL Films and Orchestra

by - April 18, 2018

The Mann announced that they are partnering with the Eagles, NFL Films, and The Philadelphia Orchestra to create a unique concert experience this summer for Eagles fans. Merrill Reese will emcee the evening and it raises funds for the Eagles Autism Challenge and the Mann’s free arts education programming.  I recently became a fan of the Eagles. I mean that's what happens when you move closer to Philly. It becomes infectious and you just can't sit back and not become a fan?! The Mann always has fun things for families in the summer. Check this event out! On July 24th (my son's birthday), they will be having an Eagles family fun concert event to congratulate the Eagles for winning the Superbowl! What sold me on this event is that the Mann has partnered with Art-Reach to make this a sensory-friendly event for children and adults on the spectrum. For those that don't know, my son is on the spectrum. Check out the information below.

and the Mann’s arts education programs

PHILADELPHIA (April 18, 2018) – Eagles fever will take over the Mann Center for the Performing Arts on July 24 when A Championship Season with The Philadelphia Orchestra takes center stage for a revelatory evening.  Presented by the Mann, Philadelphia Eagles and NFL Films, the performance will take the audience on a visual journey of the Eagles’ crowning championship season, set to a live soundtrack of NFL Films symphonic music performed by the world-class Philadelphia Orchestra. The “Voice of the Eagles,” the great Merrill Reese, will emcee the evening and SWOOP and the Eagles Cheerleaders will join in on the celebration.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Philadelphia Eagles, NFL Films and The Philadelphia Orchestra to present this celebration and to support two great causes in the process,” said President Catherine Cahill, Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

A portion of the proceeds from A Championship Season will benefit Eagles Autism Challenge, which supports innovative research and programs to help unlock the mystery of autism, and the Mann’s arts education programs, which provide free opportunities for all children to be inspired by the arts through the magic and richness of live performances.  In support of Eagles Autism Challenge, the Mann has partnered with Art-Reach to make the performance a sensory-friendly event.  The evening will be designed to create a welcoming environment for individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities.

“The Philadelphia Orchestra has been captivating audiences for more than a century with its artistic excellence, enriching performances and celebrated legacy,” said Ryan Hammond, Eagles Autism Challenge Executive Director. “We are excited for everyone to take in this inclusive musical masterpiece at the historic Mann Center on July 24 and are thrilled to announce that proceeds will benefit the Eagles Autism Challenge.”

“NFL Films is honored to collaborate with the Philadelphia Eagles, the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra and the Mann Center for the Performing Arts in a celebration, with Eagles fans, of their historic championship season. Nothing stirs the soul like a 90-piece orchestra performing the music of NFL Films below a 40 foot screen reliving the dramatic moments of the Eagles’ march to their Super Bowl victory,” said Dave Robidoux, NFL Films’ award-winning composer.

Fans are encouraged to wear their team gear and pack a picnic to spread out on the lawn before the show. Tickets for the event go on sale to the public April 20.
